Local Walks - A Trip To The Viaduct
Feb 23, 2026
When it comes to transport Cardiff is accessible in many ways. By Car it takes approximately 32 minutes into the centre of Cardiff, 15 miles in total. A short 20 minute brisk walk can get you to our local train station, alternatively we can taxi you to the station! From there you can catch a direct train to Cardiff city centre which will take between 30-32 minutes. Cardiff has many attractions, from ancient Cardiff Castle to the National Museum of Wales, iconic sporting venues like the Principality Stadium and the Cardiff City Stadium there is plenty to see and do in the city. We love our capital city, it has developed and attracted many creative people, events and shops. It has managed to attract a quality collection of boutique and high end shops. There is plenty of choice for everyone, from finding high street stores in St Davids Centre, to designer shops in the Royal Arcades which are the oldest arcade in Cardiff, being built in 1858, it is a Grade II listed building. Just a few shops you could browse include John Lewis, Jo Malone, The White Company, Pretty Green, John Ian designer shoes and many others. When it comes to eating in Cardiff there is so much to pick from, we recommend using the ‘Get a wriggle on’ app to discover independent reassurance & cafes around in Cardiff.
We highly recommend Assador 44 for anyone who not only enjoys quality steak but attentive service, fine wine and cheese (they have a whole room dedicated to it!). Assador 44 is all about flavour and simplicity. Their aim is to bring a modern, refined and relaxed take on chargrilling impeccably- sourced meat, fish and vegetables over charcoal and wood Book Here After that you might be thirsty and we know that there is a memorable place for you to visit. The Dead Canary, winner of Cardiff Life Awards 2016 & 2017 and the Cardiff Lifestyle Awards 201, this speakeasy has a vast collection of sophisticated spirits and creative cocktails. With only a bird cage to identify the entrance and a doorbell to press to enter, the Dead Canary is quite sophisticated. You are greeted at the door by a host who will guide you through the boutique cocktail menu.
